IMPORTANT UPDATE TO 2023 BYLAWS

July 12, 2023


The Bylaw Committee spoke with our National Representative prior to submitting our pending bylaws for approval and were made aware of language that impacts what had previously marked as “passed”.

 

In order for a Bylaw to be considered “passed” it must have passed by 2/3rds of those that voted and not the majority. The results have been calculated again and some that had previously passed are now failed.



Here is an update to reflect the current status of the 2023 Bylaws, pending National approval:


Modify Proposal 1 - Article 1.06 - Non-gender specific - FAILED


Remove - Proposal 2 - Article 21.01 - Make Bylaws a Standing Committee - FAILED


Remove - Proposal 3 - Article 14.08 - Remove wording about auditor - FAILED


Modify - Proposal 4 - Article 13.02 - Committee Nomination - PASSED


Modify - Proposal 5 - Article 14.06 - Expenses - PASSED


Modify - Proposal 6 - Article 10.01.05 - Human Rights Advocate - PASSED


Modify - Proposal 7 - Article 4 - Dues 4.01.03 - PASSED


Modify Proposal 8 - Article 19 - Bargaining SaskTel - PASSED

  

Modify - Proposal 9 - Article 4.01 - Change dues rate to a percentage - FAILED


Modify - Proposal 10 - Article 1 and 5 - Remove Human Rights Advocate as a tabled officer - FAILED
