Bargaining Update - SecurTek – January 25, 2018

posted Jan 28, 2018, 5:08 PM by Gail Sawatzky   [ updated Jun 27, 2018, 9:38 AM ]

As per the Saskatchewan Employment Act, notice to begin bargaining must be served by either the employer or the Union 60 days prior to the expiration of the Collective Agreement.  As you’ll recall, the SecurTek Collective was extended for 1 year from March 19, 2017.  This meant the new expiration date would be March 19, 2018.

Notice to bargain for the March 19, 2018 contract needed to be given by January 18, 2018.  This notice was not given by either party which extends the contract by another year.  The new expiry date for the SecurTek Collective Agreement will be March 19, 2019.  All benefits and language in the Collective Agreement will remain as is.

Budget 2017

posted Nov 11, 2016, 5:32 AM by Greg Olson   [ updated Jun 27, 2018, 9:37 AM by Gail Sawatzky ]

At the October General Membership meeting the proposed 2017 Budget was presented. At the meeting, the budget was debated and, at the conclusion of the meeting, the proposed budget was recommended to be distributed to the membership for review.

The proposed budget has been posted to the Membership Database website. Between now and the December 12, 2016 general meeting you will have an opportunity to review the budget and ask any questions. No changes to the budget will be allowed during this time. At the December 12 meeting, the budget will be voted on. If the budget passes, it will be implemented as close to January 1, 2017 as possible. If the budget does not pass, then the general membership in attendance at the meeting will go through each budget item and make changes until there is a budget that will pass.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
