December 6 is the National day of Remembrance & Action on the Violence Against Women, it is a day when we remember the 14 Women who were brutally murdered in 1989 at L'Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.  They died because they were women. This day was established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada and represents an opportunity for Canadians to reflect on the phenomenon of violence against women in our society.

The CLC (Canadian Labour Congress is hosting a vigil at St. Paul's Cathedral Hall, 1861 McIntyre Street in Regina to remember those 14 young women.

In addition the SFL (Saskatchewan Federation of Labour) together with Unifor members will be selling limited edition Burgundy Sparkle earrings from Hillberg & Berk with proceeds going directly to support survivors of domestic violence through the Provincial Association of Transitional Houses & Services of Saskatchewan.  From 11:45 - 1:00 at the Pioneer Kiosk on the 2nd floor of SaskTel Head office these earrings will be available for purchase.
