Day of Mourning - April 28, 2018

posted Apr 17, 2018, 8:03 PM by Gail Sawatzky   [ updated Apr 23, 2018, 11:36 AM ]
Canadian workers are dying. A thousand workers die from accidents at work every year, and a million others are injured. Thousands more die from diseases caused by toxic substances at work. April 28 is a day to remember those injured and killed on the job.
Although not a legal holiday, April 28 is recognized by the labour movement across Canada and by Parliament in 1991 as the day to mourn victims of workplace accidents and for the renewal of the pledge to making the workplace safer.

A ceremony will be held on Saturday April 28, 2018 from 11:00 - 12:00 pm at Queen Elizabeth II Court (in front of City Hall) followed by a luncheon will follow at the Regina Union Centre, 2709 - 12th Ave (3 blocks east of this City Hall ceremony)

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Yorkton Ceremony:
11:00 a.m. April 28th, 2018
