Have items you want to donate somewhere?

Did you know that Value Village is a for-profit organization? Lots of people don't realize this and they continue to donate thinking that non-profits are benefiting from their donation. The exception to this is when a non-profit is collecting donations (like Community Living) - they get a certain dollar amount per pound for what they collect and donate to Value Village. But it's a pittance.

Please note - with COVID-19 here, acceptance of donations has been suspended.

Here's a list of non-profit organizations who accept donations and what they accept:

 Organization      Items
YWCA They have a small store at the YWCA. They accept quality used items - women's and children's clothing, small household items, books, toys, etc.
 Soul's Harbour Rescue Mission They accept food donations and other miscellaneous items.
 Carmichael Outreach They accept donations of pretty much anything. Especially hygiene products and feminine products.  

Containers (from yogurt, butter, sour cream, etc.), Plastic Grocery Bags; Backpacks; Purses; Seasonal Items; Clothing; Socks; Shoes; Bras & Underwear (new or “like new” condition and washed in hot water); Bedding; Pots & Pans; Cutlery; Dishes; Games; Toys; Books; Movies; Home Décor Items; Small Appliances; Cell Phones & Other Small Electronics; Hygiene Items; Cleaning Supplies (garbage bags, bleach, etc); Gift Cards; Pet Food & Pet Supplies; Office Supplies (notebooks, printer paper, pens, etc); Food (both perishable & non-perishable items if stored properly); & more!
 Salvation Army Thrift Store   Quality used items including furniture.
