Wakamow Valley Authority

Wakamow Valley is an urban natural park with over 20kms of trails and almost 500 acres of parkland. There are a vast number of recreational activities to enjoy in the valley for every season from canoeing and camping in the summer to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The trails are open year round and the area is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna including more than 190 bird species.
The valley also features four playgrounds including a wheelchair accessible play area, four public pavilions available to rent for private events, an ecological zone with four distinct ecosystems, a 60 site campground and the ever-popular Burger Cabin.
Located at the heart of Moose Jaw just minutes from the historic downtown area, the valley offers a peaceful haven for locals and visitors alike.

Bargaining Update - March 25, 2019

The bargaining committee met with Wakamow on March 14.
We managed to come to agreement on the terms with the following highlights:
  • 2019 - 2%; 2020 - 2%; 2021 - 2%
  • Letters of suspension removed from personal file after 3 years
  • Employees can use sick leave credits for doctors appointments for physician, specialist, dentist, optometrist, chiropractor or chiropodist
  • Paid education leave $0.03 per hour per member per year

We held a ratification on March 21 and he contract was accepted.
